Updated information on Production Dates for the Provider Statistical and Reimbursement (PS&R) Report and Extension of Due Date for Filing Provider Cost Reports

On September 26, 2001, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) issued a Program Memorandum* (Transmittal A-01-117, Change Request 1885) regarding the Production Dates for the Provider Statistical and Reimbursement (PS&R) Report and Extension of Due Date for Filing Provider Cost Reports.* The due dates in this Program Memorandum will most likely be extended for providers with a Home Health Agency because CMS did not release the Home Health PS&R to local intermediaries on October 3, 2001 as promised. CMS recently informed us that the cost report due dates will probably be 60 days after the intermediary has received the PS&R from CMS. According to the regulations, the provider is given a minimum of 30 days to complete their cost report after receiving the PS&R. * Adobe Acrobat Reader is required to view the Portable Document Format (.PDF) file properly.
