MedPAC Recommends Zero Updates for SNF Payments in 2010

The Medicare Payment Advisory Commission (MedPAC), told the House Ways and Means Committee on March 17th that Medicare payments have exceeded SNFs’ costs, in part, due to the increase in the number of days classified into the highest-payment case-mix groups, according to MedPAC’s testimony. MedPAC has recommended no update to SNFs’ Medicare payments in 2010.

American Health Care Association has recommended that Congress maintain the full market basket for SNFs in 2010.
